Online Leak Sealing
At Live Tec Engineering we offer a proven successful method of online leak sealing. This can prevent plant downtime and energy waste, which in turn saves our customers time and money. We repair leaks on various systems such as steam, water, chemical, gases and air on such applications as:

Hot Tapping
Hot tapping is a method of creating a new branch to an existing pipeline while the system is still in operation. This is achieved by attaching a short branch to the pipe either by welding or by attaching a mechanical tee.
A full bore valve is then fitted to the branch. Once the hot tapping machine has been attached to the valve the pipe can then be drilled. The hot tapping machine is then retracted and the valve closed.
Once the hot tapping machine has been vented it can then be removed from the valve.
The end result is a fully operational branch line with the cost saving element of not having to depressurize the system.
Pipe Freezing
Pipe freezing is a method for temporary pipe isolation. The contents of the pipeline are frozen, forming an ice plug which retains the liquid while remedial works are carried out.
The operation is carried out by fitting a jacket around the area of the pipe to be frozen. The jacket is then filled with liquid nitrogen which over a period of time will freeze the contents to form an ice plug. The benefits of pipe freezing are:

- Prevents the need for draining down
- Can be applied to pipes containing a wide range of liquids
